Who are We?

Dronfield Heritage Trust is the custodian of the Dronfield Hall Barn, a historic community building dating back to 1430. The Barn was restored, extended, and opened to the public in 2015 and, in addition to the coffee shop, the Barn has a varied events programme. It hosts artisan markets, exhibitions, festivals, wakes, baby showers, and corporate clients. We also welcome several local community groups that use our space regularly.

The surrounding grounds are enjoyed by passing visitors, as well as specific groups, and we work with our team of volunteers and partners to create a vibrant community hub. Our vision is to be a destination visitor attraction for the East Midlands and South Yorkshire.

Dronfield Heritage Trust is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee. The Board of Trustees has overall strategic responsibility for delivery

We have made some progress however, a key challenge is building the case for support to increase sponsorship, donations and fundraising.  We have, developed a fundraising strategy with a clear vision and direction for the charity to increase income and develop a sustainable heritage asset.

The charity has over 70 active volunteers and a small paid  staff who are passionate about developing community fundraising including market events, garden workshops and tours, historical and music events and we are aiming high to be a destination venue of the future.  Some progress has been made to increase donations and sponsorship including with key professional local companies, we have a dedicated donation machine, and are developing a new website to improve sales and donation opportunities but there is lots more untapped potential for fundraising

An in-house coffee shop run through a limited company is also onsite and the proceeds are invested back into the charity
