About Me After a near fatal brain haemorrhage, a number of subsequent injuries as a result I also have fibromyalgia, despite these challenges I have managed to bring up two wonderful young people alone, well not entirely alone, with the support of some wonderful PA’s (and the challenge of some “not so good” PAs). After studying for an MSc in Psychology and the studying for a diploma in psychotherapy, I am nearly ready to spend some time on building me (not children), but this is not possible without support both domestically, executively and practically!
My Interests: I have an allotment, which despite fallow years I have managed too keep and planted my spuds! I am passionate about resisting the swing to the far right and give a lot of my energy to community building with an emphasis on diversity and integration, human rights and kindness.
This P.A role can be split in 2 or all one role:
Domestic
Dishwashing, Laundry, Household chores such as vacuuming, mopping, making beds, cleaning/dusting/tidying rooms and ironing work clothes!
Work & Admin
I find it difficult to keep on top of my admin as I have a number of cognitive problems since my haemorrhage including huge problems with memory impairment, all systems are helpful if they are supported and kept up, but I really need the regular support of my PA to have an awareness of time-management and schedules/commitments!
Wellbeing & Social Enrichment
I keep an allotment which I need help with, particularly sharing tasks and motivation to actually go, once I am there I am happy and I can feel a real sense of achievement but tasks need to be well defined and broken up and I tend to get overwhelmed and over do it! I also keep tropical fish, this has been a really resilient and relentless task because aquarium keeping can be so volatile and labour intensive but oh so fulfilling to watch the tiny baby guppies grow and play in the currents, impossible to give up.
Support Puppy:
Finally there is my future Labradoodle. This puppy will be coming to me in the summer/autumn. I really need to provide really good structure and consistency for this lovely fluffy family member. He * will be a really helpful companion to me and a real support to emotional regulation for my autistic teenage son. My PA has to be good with dogs and be able to learn how we need to interact with a trainee support dog!
I need you to be resourceful and rational, so the kind of patient resilience that keeping a busy house implies! I also need to know that we can build trust and good communication, sometimes I will have to say “not this way, that way” and nothing emotionally loaded is implied, we just need to be flexible. It is an absolutely great opportunity for the right person, previous PA’s have been really happy that they’re coming to work. on a Monday morning, so no more Sunday Scaries!
